Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On here really to meet and learn from locals and expats who know a bit about the place, who can let me in on cultural norms, must-do's and must-don't's, local delicacies and everything else that comes with travelling.

Interests

Love a good hike, a bit of yoga and some football. If you're into any of this, then great! If you're into all of it, then we'll definitely get along just fine.

Music, Movies, and Books

My two favourite films are Oldboy and American History X. If you've seen either of these, you could probably guess that I'm big on controversial art forms. But among my favourites are also Good Will Hunting and Four Lions. So really anything that evokes a strong emotional reaction gets a thumbs up from me.
I'm also a lover of literature. Big fan of Cormac McCarthy and Dostoyevsky but have just recently been exploring some more avante-garde stuff. Would love to hook up with people into literature, even if they've got different tastes. Always great to bounce of other people, and get introduced to new material.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Lived in a few places since I've been teaching. Started out in Hong Kong after I'd done some travelling around Asia. This was my first encounter with couch surfing as me and my flat mates hosted a bunch of people under my friends account. Then continued the Asian adventure with six months in Vietnam before moving to Sydney, where I've spent the last year. Moving to Colombia in March and plan on doing some travelling around Peru and either Bolivia or Ecuador before hand.

I'm an English teacher so for anyone who wants to improve their English, I'm happy to help! I'm also pretty clean and tidy, and aspiring yet woefully average cook so I'd be happy to help out with housework as a way of saying thanks to my hosts.
