I work as an audio engineer and AV technician for production companies and art galleries. I'm also a musician but hardly a professional. Lived in San Francisco until moving to the UK to stay with my partner though I still travel for work, music and fun.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For fun and a little bit of life experience meeting other people and seeing other lifestyles. Staying with real people in another place is a lot more immersive than a hotel.

Interests

Music mostly, I really love hearing about peoples interests and personal tastes. I love speaking with experts about any subject, you can always learn more or at least try! I'm a classically trained musician but now perform more experimental music.

I'm a fan of the works of Brian Eno, Fela Kuti, Animal Collective, Sparks, Arvo Pärt, Wire, Nick Cave, Ali Farka Touré, Enablers, Tom Waits, Rowland S. Howard, The Smiths, Tobacco, Black Moth Super Rainbow, Marvin Gaye, The Jesus Lizard and Buzzcocks.
Books like the Montalbano Mysteries, Fundamentals of the Fungi, A Year With Swollen Appendices, Good Vibrations: The History of Record Production, and most books by Phillip K. Dick and William S. Burroughs.
I really like the television shows Rick and Morty, Star Trek and The Prisoner, starring Patrick McGoohan.

Interested in anyone's taste in music if they are interested in discussing it. I will always be ready to listen to them and the music they're excited about. I'm curious about any artistic project or scientific study you're working on.
I have studied classical voice performance and I would give voice lessons to my hosts if they're interested.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can cook a couple dishes very well. I can make friends or I can get out of your hair either way is fine. I love going out to see live music and would be ready to go to any show you had in mind or just see what's going on at the nearest venue.
I enjoy cooking, and I would tidy up and help around the house while there.
