Books: I read more nonfiction, but anything gritty, hyperreal, surreal, bizarre, experimental, depressing or euphoric is a good start for fiction.
Movies: anything that your most sensible friend would like, I would probably like. I tend not to like action, horror or comedy unless the film happens to pique my interest.
