According to Fox Sports, UFC President Dana White has revealed the Jose Aldo camp turned down the opportunity for a rematch at UFC 196 with Featherweight Champion Conor McGregor. Aldo previously stated in January that he wanted a rematch with McGregor and that the only fight he would next accept is a title fight.

McGregor knocked out Aldo in 13 seconds at UFC 194 in December. After the fight, Aldo was diagnosed with a concussion and has been recovering over recent weeks. Even with White reaching out to his camp for a rematch, it is unclear if Aldo’s doctors have cleared him to come back so soon or if the Nevada Athletic Commission would have even sanctioned the fight.

Aldo has yet to release an official statement about the story.

Joe Torre grew up in a home where his father physically abused his mother and emotionally abused Torre and his siblings. This was a secret that Torre kept throughout his childhood. He realized as he grew older, however, that the abuse left a lasting negative impact. He struggled with fear, shame, guilt, and low self-esteem. It was years later as an adult, after attending a seminar with his wife, that he began to speak publicly about his experience. He then went on to open the Foundation to keep children from going through what he did, and to help children get out of unsafe environments.

To date, the organization has 10 school-based programs in cities across the U.S. that provide students with a safe room where they can speak with a professional counselor trained in domestic violence prevention and intervention, according to the organization’s website.

A charitable organization has created an urban farm in Chicago that provides agriculture training and employment to young adults diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Using grant monies received from Autism Speaks and other organizations, Growing Solutions Farms, managed by the Julie and Michael Tracy Family Foundation (JMTF)/Urban Autism Solutions, turned a once-vacant piece of land on Chicago’s West Side into an acre-sized vocational and life training ground.

More than 30 young men and women from area schools and JMTF residents were hired as paid interns on the farm. Not only did the experience allow them to earn money, it also helped them to develop skills such as following a schedule, performing specific tasks, and asking for help when needed, which can assist in their transition to adulthood.

It also allowed them to conduct meaningful work by helping to produce more than 5,000 pounds of vegetables. Work on the farm has helped boost their self-confidence, which can support them as they navigate their lives.
