About Me

I was born and raised in the city that I still call home, Denver, Colorado.

I have a twin brother and an older brother.

Graduated last May, worked until December, and I'm basically putting off a professional commitment for the time being.

I am very laid back, casual, and easy to get along with.

New to CS but not to traveling.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel without staying in hotels and only seeing postcard landmarks. There are certainly touristy spots that I would love to see, but I want a social experience. Building new relationships, trying new things, and interacting with human beings who have a totally different background from me is the most appealing idea of travel.

To meet new people

Hopefully it is easier to travel without a strict commitment or itinerary via CS than it is through AirBnB.

Interests

My greatest passion is people. The history of people and peoples, as well as wondering about the future. Two of my favorite things to think about are time travel and the ways that language shapes our reality.

I like board games, video games, and sports - all these are fun and can reveal a lot about a person.

I love stories. Movies, books, history and biography all can be very informative and thought provoking.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like all kinds of music, from old jazz, to early and new rock. Currently I'm listening to some more alternative things like Neutral Milk Hotel and Hot Sugar.

I've loved watching old movies from the silent era to Hitchcock and Lang, as well as movies from all other periods. I love foreign films (usually British, but also French, German, Spanish, Korean, and others), and movies of all genres. They just have to make me think.

I haven't read enough classic literature, but I gladly read everything from poetry to novels, history pieces, essays, philosophy, and biographies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Riding a horse on top of a mountain in a lightning storm.
Off roading in a Jeep
Taking a motorboat into the Atlantic in Maine
Hiking up four 14,000 foot mountains in one day.

Teach, Learn, Share

I could teach others about a different perspective. I have experienced things that most other people haven't - and I'm sure there are a lot of questions I can answer personally. I don't feel the need to teach other people what I know, but I would love to answer questions if anybody has one for me.

I want to learn about other cities, countries, people. I want to learn how to cook meals and eat them in foreign styles. I could probably drive a person crazy with questions.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I would love to share in jokes and laughs, drinks and meals, songs and stories. I am also happy to earn my stay by providing some wine, buying dinner, or picking up a bit around the house.
