CURRENT MISSION
Find happiness, wherever or whatever that means!
ABOUT ME
I'm willing to meet new people and respect them, even if they are different from me. I enjoy spending time with others, even if it is doing mundane activities. I am passionate about my relationships, my interests, and life!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I host from my home in Pocatello most of the year - I'm a teacher, which means I have plenty of free time in the summer to host. I love that when people come to my area I can show them around and take pride in my city. I also love traveling, and have used CS to meet great people around the world.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I love traveling, but have usually stayed in a hotel or hostel, meaning that I was shut out from the social aspect of traveling. I'm determined to change that now and start surfing. I've let many friends stay at my home as they pass through town and don't mind hosting at all.
Interests
I love music - listening to it, collecting records, and playing guitar. If you get me talking about music in general, I won't stop. I enjoy reading and discussing ideas, stimulating conversation excites me! In the winter, I like snowboarding, in the summer, camping and traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: Anything by Tarantino! I really like any type of movie, but not a big horror fan.
Television: Recent shows I've been watching are The Wire, Game of Thrones, Boardwalk Empire, Arrested Development, and Girls.
Music: My favorite artist would have to be Bob Dylan; my favorite band is the Clash. I LOVE music and I'm willing to check out anything. I guess the most recent artists I've been listening to are Kendrick Lamar, James Blake, Japandroids, Local Natives, Daft Punk, etc.
Books: I love the Beat Generation (Kerouac, Ginsberg, Burroughs) and the modernists, but I've been recently been reading the Game of Thrones series and it's pretty awesome. I'm an English guy, so if we talk about books, you may regret that decision after an hour or so.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
This last summer I traveled around Western Europe meeting up with friends I've hosted on CS, as well as meeting tons of new people through the website. We had a group who slept in a park in Pamplona during the San Fermin festival, which was an amazing experience! Along the same lines, the Encierro (bull run) was the biggest adrenaline rush of my life and don't regret it for a minute. Although that's easy to say when you weren't gored or anything.
Teach, Learn, Share
I've been hosting for about two years now, traveled last year, and have never had a bad experience. If you're hosting, try your hardest to accept as many people as you can; you don't know what you may be missing out on. If you're a surfer, be open and prepared for anything, since every host is different. Also, don't get discouraged if you get denied a few times!
