Hi I'm Sean. I have been traveling continuously since end of Jan 2024, all in SE Asia. People ask me a lot if I quit my job. Nope. My job quit me.

It's been a blessing though, and I'm very grateful for not only the opportunity afforded to me by my former employer, but also for my former self deciding to take this journey.

My main hobbies are bird watching and photography. I love spending time in nature, it's my grounding, happy place. I put a lot of my energy into growing and developing as a person. I have certain things I do every day, meditation (an hour or more), yoga, exercise. I'm pretty strict about these. I believe in the power of discipline and habit. I don't drink or party (sometimes I stay up after midnight, if it's NYE...kidding, but I usually do sleep by 10/1030.

I love deep meaningful conversations. I enjoy learning about the elements of a place or person that are often overlooked. I am very open minded and will happily challenge the way I think about something if given the opportunity.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I can't believe I've been on Couchsurfing a decade now. Mostly I have been a host here, giving people in various situations a place to stay and creating connections in the process. Now I'm traveling and would like to stay with hosts from time to time.

In general I want to spread positivity and compassion in the world, and certainly aim to do that here too.

兴趣

Love the outdoors. Bird watching is my top hobby. Also photography, hiking, just enjoying nature. I really enjoy traveling and seeing new places.

Music: pretty eclectic. I tend to like particular songs rather than genres or artists. Not much of an audiophile. Half the time I don't know the artist :)

Movies: number one for me is Gladiator. Some other favorites: The Insider (not to be confused with Inside Man, also a good movie though), the Dark Knight, Inception, Airplane, Interstellar, and last but not least, Who's Your Caddy...just kidding, please save yourself the pain of watching that

Books: Harry Potter (basic, I know, but oh so good), Les Miserables, Count of Monte Cristo
