ABOUT ME

***Currently traveling, no longer living in Boston***

-TLDR-
I try to be a kind dude and I like to make stuff and go on adventures. I'm happy at a museum as I am at a concert, on a hike or hanging out on your couch talking about the world. I especially enjoy the company of people who are creating or actively trying to Influence the world in a positive way.

-FURTHER INFO-

I am friendly, open and adventurous designer attempting to travel the world with every opportunity I can find. I'm up for anytype of new experience and recently started working for an educational travel company that specializes in field research for social innovation.

I'm a pretty curious dude. I see travel and meeting new people as a way to better expand my mind to the world and experience everything it has to offer.

I've been on a handfull of back-country adventures in the past, and i do love the outdoors, but haven't been on any major trips in awhile.

I now have a degree in Industrial Design and I have most enjoyed designing and fabricating furniture by hand. I also enjoy drawing and watercoloring while traveling.

I'm also interested in the humanities and enjoy discussions (or just listening, to those who are more informed) about philosophy, science, history, ethics and social justice.

PHILOSOPHY

"Spare me the political events and power struggles, as the whole earth is my homeland and all men are my fellow countrymen."

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I desire to have much of my life's wealth be in fond memories, friends and an sense of interconnectedness with the world.

Hosting and surfing, its an amazing way of finding shared humanity and building empathy, I hope to help maintain CS as a sharing community of open-minded, selfless adventurers.

-----

Interests

Anything that I believe helps me grow and open my mind.

My interests vary by the place I'm in.

In nature: I like to go hiking, camping, climbing and/or paddling.

In a city: I'm interested in local culture and history. For example I enjoy finding abandoned buildings and rooftop access, and any other places where people tell you you're not supposed to go

I consider myself a life long learner and enjoy meeting people.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have summited two Volcanos over 18'000 feet; Mt.Cotopaxi in Ecuador and Pico de Orizaba in Mexico

I also spent 3 months volunteering to help build a school out of recycled materials in Guatemala.

-----

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach about design-thinking, basic perspective drawing or watercolor and some climbing/kayaking basics.

-----

I want to improve my Spanish.
Θελο να μάθω ελληνικά

I always want to learn about people's passions, what makes them wake up in the morning and how they're working to make the world a better place.

-----

Let's share an experience that is new to both of us!

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cooking (not saying I'm great), I often volunteer at a local soup kitchen with my fiance and enjoy cooking for other people and enjoy a good meal as the centerpiece for a great conversation. I'm best at breakfasts.
(I'm mostly a Vegitarian, but I can cook with meat for a host)

Stories! from hitchhiking to an extreme sports festival in Norway, waking up one morning in Istanbul with no plans and no map, climbing 20,000 ft mountains in latin america, sleeping on a 100 year old sail boat on Cape Cod, weird techno-rave parties in Monteal, road tripping for 3 weeks across USA with 6 friends and no phones.

Listening! I want to learn about you, hear your stories, understand how you see the world.
