About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Save up, sail off.

ABOUT ME

Spent a few years waiting for a good time to travel, decided that was stupid and now I'm bouncing around the globe! There's always something interesting to see and do, and always great people to make friends with. I hold a master's in children's literature and I'm constantly inspired by new works and new things I notice in old works. Trying to liberate a pint glass from every country I visit and keep my sister from breaking them. I also love cooking. Cozy afternoons and gorgeous sunny days and late nights and early mornings are all good.

PHILOSOPHY

keep it light enough to travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I've surfed a few times, and I've tried to host but it just never worked out. I love the idea of couchsurfing and always want to get more involved.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've surfed in Serbia, London, and Canada for the Vancouver Olympics.

Interests

I love Irish dancing, been doing it since I was 5. And sailing. Snowboarding. Horseback riding. Hiking. Art. Hanging out. great movies. crappy movies. Wandering museums and cities. lazing about in the country. enjoying the night sky. Really really really good food in unexpected places.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Slow Regard of Silent Things; Lots of movies, but more recently Arrival was FANTASTIC; anything Chris Thile plays, even his jazz is warming me up... a little. Honestly it's still too esoteric for me and I skip back to his Bach or Americana after half a song.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I sailed from Tahiti to Honolulu on a research brigantine, the SSV Robert C. Seamens. it was amazing!

Let's cook!

Airpopped pop corn is super cheap and really easy and a mega tasty snack. You can buy a popper for about $20. Pop your corn and drizzle with about a tablespoon of melted butter. Sprinkle with a tiny bit of salt. This is basic popcorn and once you try it, you won't ever want microwaved popcorn again!

Countries I’ve Visited

Austria, Cambodia, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, Norway, Peru, Serbia, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, United Kingdom, Zimbabwe

Countries I’ve Lived In

United Kingdom, United States
