About Me

Traveller, hiker, software engineer and a pretty good cook :)

I am from Boston, USA but I moved to Darmstadt, Germany for work, so I could travel in my free time. I studied Computer Science at UMass Amherst and studied for a semester abroad in Freiburg, Germany.

When I'm not travelling, I'm probably playing the piano, hiking, making delicious breakfasts for friends, grabbing drinks, biking, climbing or kayaking. Or just trying out new things.

I admit, I'm a huge foodie. Yes, I usually take pictures of my food :D I also love cooking and I'm up to try anything, including but not limited to rooster balls and cow tongue.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Getting to know the locals is much more enriching than your typical tourist trip. I love exchanging cultural viewpoints, traditions and cuisine. I have made some amazing friends over Couchsurfing, even ones that I have seen again after staying on their couch.

Music, Movies, and Books

Favorite artists... Blind Pilot, Hilltop hoods, Chopin, Radiohead, Fleet Foxes, Cro, Brahms, Brad Mehldau, Ella Fitzgerald, Sia, Rocky Votolato, John Coltraine, Mark Forster, Joe Hisaishi, One Republic, Jeremy Soule, Mumford and Sons
I'll listen to about anything that's current and in, but I'm also a huge fan of classical and jazz.
Love to listen to foreign music as well (German / Portugese mostly)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I wandered the Pyrenees for three days, sleeping in stone refuges. I even stumbled upon a field full of animal carcasses there. I tried climbing Pic Carlit at 2921 m, but the last stretch was a bit difficult at the time.

I slept on top of a peak in the alps called Glungezer at 2600 m, that was pretty epic.

I'm working in Germany - that's kind of been a dream of mine for a long time.

I slept in the Munich train station once. Thought that would be the last time I would have to sleep in a train station, but then I had to sleep in the Cologne train station. Not as much fun as it sounds.

Teach, Learn, Share

One of the best things about Couchsurfing is that it catalyzes a natural cultural exchange that enriches both the surfer and the host. I can teach German or English and cook some good food. I want to improve my Portuguese, since I recently started learning. And I want to improve my photography and start my own travel blog.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love sharing my experiences and my own cultural background and of course delicious food!!
