''Please help me figure out how this platform works and how to better myself, I am new to this !''

Hi,
I am a student who likes to travel a lot and to discover different cultures. I have traveled to all over of the United States of America, many cities in Asia and Spain. My next travel destination is Japan ! I hope to be able to meet a nice host with whom I can share my travel stories with.

I come from Montreal, where there is a lot of french background, speaking and french inspired cuisine. I ve done all my education in french and worked at an Japanese Izakaya as a waitress for about 3 years now.

I own 2 birds, canaries to be exact. My father faught in WW2 and my mother is a simple vietnamese lady. I also have an older sister who is in nursing. Me and her share a lot of stories about the current health care system in our country

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

New on Couchsurfing here, I am not entirely doing it for the cheapsie. I've heard many great stories about this website and I decided to travel alone this time. I unfortunately do not know anyone in Japan and would like to see the best of the cities, from a local's point of view ! I see this is a worthy experience which can bring the best out of two people who are from two different cities, living a different time of their lives. I would like to remain positive and believe that it will most likely be an extremely enriching experience. Japan seems to have very deep meanings to its culture.

I am a very cheerful and optimist person and I will be saddened to not be able to share my daily experiences with another while being there. I seek to be less active on social media and to live the moment.

I am (not an extreme) but enough of a minimalist and relatively clean person, hence this option could be more convenient to me (I will not actually need half of the services being offered at hotels).

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy pop as much as I enjoy classical music, I like Anime and Comics (attended many anime and comic con through North America). I also read some philosophy books.
My favorites : Albert Camus and Rene Descartes
Besides that, I am a full time student who have enjoyed para scholar sports such as Wu Shu, Kendo, Athletism and cheerleading through highschool.

I am a very techy person, I love technology and I have been self teaching myself certain languages of coding.
I also love science, which is why I am in pharmacy. I have promoted health, its accessibility and its education through many volunteering opportunities for more than a decade.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I traveled to Hawaii and snorkeled to the deepest sides of the sea, even at night !
I stayed in California (San Francisco and LA), New York City and Toronto parts of my life, it is very much two different lifestyles and two mentalities.
My goal in life would be to establish myself in California and New York City at two different point in life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a loving and caring person to my family, friends and strangers. I never stop reminding myself of the values of kindness and honesty. Always looking to develop more wisdom.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I am a pretty disciplined of a person, I can definitely help with the cleaning, cooking or even the teaching, if you are interested in learning English or French.

And then finally, a really good ray of energy and positivity, I like sharing traveling stories and life experiences. I built many friendships over the different cities I traveled to, which I still keep up to this day. I seek meaning to every new relationships I build.

I also very much like to cook; I am a foodie and I like to share recipes, while providing a warming atmosphere. I also like animal and pets a lot.

Most importantly, I like sharing point of views of life, cultures, religions and people, in an open and respectful way. I am grateful to everyone who share their life lessons and experiences with me, as well as whoever would make see how bigger life is compared to my reality. Even though I am a simple student, I am confident that I will find ways to thank the people who make my stay more enjoyable in any way through creativity; and am open to suggestions.
