ABOUT ME

I'm a Seattle-based travel writer My focus is on cultural travel, helping people appreciate the local culture by meeting local people, staying in locally-owned B&Bs, homestays etc. and enjoying local activities as well as seeing the sites. I'm an advocate of budget travel, not so much to save money, but because I think it usually results in a better travel experience.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Mainly, I've been particpating buy writing about couchsurfing experiences, my own and others, as a way of letting the public know more about how it works and what to expect.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've mainly I've met people for coffee. One of the nicest encounters was with a group of Peace Corps workers in Albania. We met for dinner, then the next day for coffee, and have stayed in touch ever since. Recently my husband and I hard our first overnight couchsurfing experience in Thessaloniki, Greece. It was a wonderful experience and I hope to do more.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

After years of searching for the information, recently discovered the town where my grandfather was born in Southern Italy, then visited there and met people with whom I have stayed in touch.
