About Me

CURRENT MISSION
Settling down in the Bay Area.

ABOUT ME

We love traveling and meeting people from all over the place. We do active things (hiking, rock climbing, skiing, tennis, etc) but also love reading and having some lazy days. Not really into partying, but rather enjoy staying up late and having good conversations.

We've both been more than a couple places around the globe and know how to be respectful of someone's efforts to host.

PHILOSOPHY

Live Life with no regrets!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We surfed and now we want to host more! :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We hosted in Seattle in 2011 and had great experiences! It was nice to show our city and we hope to do it again when we return.

We traveled for 7 months in 2012 and loved couchsurfing!

Interests

Tennis, rock climbing, meeting people, crosscountry and downhill skiing, hiking, traveling, motorcycling, cribbage, backgammon, sipping tea and whiskey, reading, picking up undervalued things from thrift stores and repairing them...

We both love to learn and are (generally) not afraid to try anything!

Music, Movies, and Books

Joy likes Jane Austen, Kite Runner, A thousand Splendid Suns, The Lovely Bones, and can recommend many more

Tom likes more non-fiction and is pretty excited with his current read, "Design This Day" by Walter Teague

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Joy: Reaching the top of the Annapurna Circuit. It was a great accomplishment for me on Nov. 15th 2007 when I reached 5416m. :)

Tom: Seeing first flight of the 787 in person!
