About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Relax, have a good time, and remember what is important in life
ABOUT ME
Just finished my MPA last June! Now I'm living and working in Kunming, China.
I started learning Chinese a long time ago, how to sniff out the best deals, and also learned how to salsa dance there from a Chinese woman in Nanjing who could shake it like she was born in Havana.
I got my BA from the University of Iowa in Anthropology and Chinese.
I also lived in Korea as a teenager for about 6 months. That is actually where I was first bitten by the travel bug. And since then, the bug has been insatiable.

Music, Movies, and Books
Currently reading "The Devil's Highway" by Luis Alberto Urrea about Mexicans crossing the border into the US. Next on my list is "Nine Parts of Desire" by Geraldine Brooks about a journalist's experiences covering the Middle East.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I met a Tibetan woman on a mountain pass on my way to Everest base camp. We had no common language. But I was knitting a scarf, and so was she. We had a great bonding moment.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'd be happy to teach you some Chinese! Would also love to practice my Spanish and work on my understanding of Arabic...
