About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Perspective is SO underrated.

ABOUT ME

I'm currently a student at the University of Illinois studying architecture. Born and raised Lutheran (LC-MS), I am still strong in the faith. My life has been a culmination of three things: religion, music, and Calvin and Hobbes.

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy closely reflects my religious beliefs. I believe that humanity is flawed at its core. By no means can we achieve "perfection." At the same time, however, I believe altruism is the way to go. I try to avoid putting myself in the center, though I fail far more often than succeed at this. My comfort lies in my weakness. Despite how sinful and wretched I may be, Christ, Redeemer of the world, loved me enough to die and rise again for my sins (and the sins of the whole world).

Love is not a feeling. Love is a verb. Love is self-negating.

It's hard to fit my entire life philosophy into a text box, so ask me about it sometime!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I had a friend who did couch surfing on one of our school trips while I stayed at a hostel. He had such a good time and the people he stayed with were so nice, I decided to give it a try.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None so far. I look forward to what lies ahead!

Interests

I enjoy most sitting down with good friends and just chatting over a few drinks and a good meal.

I love music. I love discovering new music and listening to music with friends. It's so ridiculously relaxing.

Regarding sports, I like biking and swimming. I don't enjoy organized sports that much, the only exception being ultimate frisbee.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friend Ron and I went on a weekend trip to Normandy while studying here in Versailles. The destination wasn't so amazing as much as the journey. It's really a better story told rather than read, so if I ever crash on your couch, ask me about it!
