a 24 year old cycling from amsterdam to india, to fight against borders! it’ll take me roughly 1.5 years, and i’ll cross 20 borders! with my Dutch passport, this is possible. But for many people across the world, it isn’t. That’s unfair!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

On my way towards India I really want to stop in certain places, and connect to the people and the culture. The danger of bike touring is that you go too fast. You don’t stop enough in the places you visit. So, I want to stop often, for multiple days, and connect with you and your people. There’s so much to learn about the world!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love reading literature that analyses the world. I found Braiding Sweetgrass, by Kimmerer, particularly beautiful. How she talks about how humans relate to nature was deeply affirming. My favourite fiction novel is probably The Dispossessed, by Ursula K. LeGuin. Seeing how people find other ways to organize a society outside of the current alienating capitalist way is super cool.
