Overview
About Me
"ALL about me" - haha, that would never fit in here (even though I am a really tiny woman ;-)
Well, I love to travel and go abroad but I also love my time at home, my friends and my family at home - they somehow "ground" me and give me the energy to satisfy my curiosity about this wide and beautiful world.
I am a girl who loves her friends, loves hanging out with them and I would definitely call myself a social person. However, sometimes I just need some time for myself - then I hang out just "with myself" listening to music or enjoying a little walk.
I am a pretty good listener and am (mostly) interested in what other people tell me. I want to know them and what is going on in their little minds.
Over the years, through various stays abroad, I have met so many wonderful people and I really try to stay in contact with them - I find it lovely to meet friends after, let's say, 3 years of not seeing each other: when you find out, that despite this long time, there is still a deep and important bond between us - well, that is just awesome!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I surf, I host and I definitely spread the word about CS!
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have surfed several couches now and it was always a very pleasing experience. Within the last three years I surfed in Brazil, the US and Eastern Europe and I/we met lovely people who made us access the local culture very directly and just overwhelmed us with their hospitality.
In general, I just love the idea of exchanging and sharing thoughts and ideas and experience things together with others!
Interests
I am interested in languages - learning them, trying to teach them and of course: apply them on locals.
Another field of interest is music - I am certainly not an expert in that area but I just love listening to it, finding new bands, going to concerts, etc.
And I love watching other people - I find it really relaxing watching, observing the social dynamics that are going on on big squares, class rooms, etc. - there is so much to see and to find out.

Music, Movies, and Books
Hmmm...I don't really like these questions about my "favourite xy", because I don't want to finalize my taste and especially not on ONE of each of these.
Anyways, some of the movies I really like are "Into The Wild", "Notes of a Scandal", "23", "Raging Bull", "La meglio gioventù", and many more. For me the best film of 2013 was "The Broken Circle Breakdown" - what a powerful and beautiful movie!
Concerning literature, I generally love Paul Auster. Just recently I discovered John Green and really like him. I enjoyed reading the "Irisches Tagebuch" by Heinrich Böll! "Unterm Rad" by Hermann Hesse as well. And I really like comics...
The most difficult question is now the one about music: I really like a lot of types of music, so I am just listing some of my preferred musicians: Bob Dylan, Ugly Duckling, Jurassic 5, Louis Armstrong, Fabrizio de André, Rodrigo y Gabriela, DJ Shadow, Wax Tailor, FivaMC, Blumentopf, Milky Chance, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, The National, ... and many more...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The Giants' Cause Way in Northern Ireland: it is so impressive that this was created by nature...couldn't do anything else but stare at it and enjoy it
Also: the Moorish castle in Sintra (near Lisbon): amazing!
When going to Brazil I really recommend going to the Chapada Diamantina - an amazing remote national park in the middle of nowhere which just enchanted me with its beauty!
I do not only like Brazil's natural wonders, also its urban ones - the fact that the Minhocao (=city highway for cars) in SaoPaolo becomes a walking area at night and on Sundays is amazing, I think. It seems humans "re-conquer" their city!
At dawn, I was standing on the rooftoop of a Christian Hostel in the centre of Jerusalem looking at the Dome of the Rock, the Wailing Wall and the Church of the Holy Sepulchre - when suddenly the Muezzin began to sing. That was pure magic.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach you German, Italian, and English - in fact I am a teacher in these subjects.
I learned that speaking languages opens up the way to get to know and getting in contact with people. And what else could I ask for while travelling?! - Getting to know the people, their ideas and opinions - which in turn will teach me a lot again. Haha, you could call that the "circle of knowledge" ;-)
Good quote: "You live, you learn"
I want to share what I have learned so far - may these be languages, may these be opinions, may these be my dreams, may these be experiences and stories.
And I wanna hear yours - in fact, I would love you to share these with me...
