About Me

My High School principal told us the best definition in order to answer this question: "We are beings who choose all the time among choices and possibilities" Given that, my existence has been crossed by the greatness of the world; meeting people from different cultures, being shocked by other ways of understanding and living things, as well as shaping my mindset as time passes and places leave a hold on me are essential facts which conform the soul. Always open to live and let live.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

This is the result of a trust exercise put in practice while I was actually hosted by Couchsurfers in Spain last month. Since a Verified CouchSurfer explained me the advantages of sharing more with locals, I decided to get out from the hotel-based experience and exchange, to give and to receive. This is the outcome.

Music, Movies, and Books

I was musically grown up with Bob Dylan, The Beatles and Queen, as well as I got more involved into Classical music as Chief Percussionist at a Symphonic Band. College introduced me into Latin rhythms such as old-style salsa, merengue, vallenato and currently being submerged into African Champeta and more salsa.

Movies: those which make you THINK, unless it's something you don't need to digest that much. Classics are my favorite, but I'm able to be flexible in that field.

Books...are one of my passions. Since I was a child, when I had to clean the house was absort in reading the newspapers I had to extend to dry surfaces. Afterwards I discovered Michel de Montaigne and became somehow practical. I prefer reading the classics first in order to understand what is called "modern" or "contemporary"

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Allowing effective communication between non-Turkish students and the management of the Dorm I was staying at in 2012. Attending informative conferences, solving students' inquiries and introducing them to a brand new lifestyle was a little easier with the efforts given by me. I felt useful to the society and then, proud of speaking Turkish.

Teach, Learn, Share

Willing to teach Spanish, some basic Latin rhythms, English, Turkish, Geography and how to not getting lost in cities without a map! (I'm also learning that, by the way)

Learning: Korean language (got some bases in Hangeul through a terrific course given by Coursera), cooking, very good swimming, business strategies, and everything people would like to show.

Willing to share...as my time is enough, and according to my own availability, a very good city tour is an activity I loved actually from the experience I had in Spain. I give back what I received in such a good way.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Since I know how necessary is to count with a "travel headquarters", although unfortunately I cannot host people in my own space, I would help as much as I can with possible locations, a very comprehensive guide on the city, actually traveling together, and other things I could learn from fantastic people throughout these years. Although a newbie in CS, got common sense and respect to help people traveling around the world and being an excellent ambassador of this beautiful country called Colombia.

Countries I’ve Visited

Argentina, Chile, Ecuador, Georgia, Panama, Spain, Turkey, Uruguay

Countries I’ve Lived In

Colombia, Turkey
