Originally from Freiburg in Germany, I'm currently living and working in London. Later this year I will move to New York. I studied Computer Science at the University of Cambridge and now work as Software Developer.

I love Jazz and Funk (which fits my last name). Some favorites are Herbie Hancock, Christian Scott, Nils Landgren, Miles Davis, Maceo Parker. I have been playing guitar for many years and I'm currently attempting to "master" the trumpet (ie become passable at it).

I'm interested in classical and philosophical literature. Being German I love the German classics but I also enjoy reading other forms of literature. Some of my favorite authors are Kafka, Goethe, Dostojevski and Roth.

Computer Science is sadly not a well taught subject, but I believe it has many aspects that are interesting beyond the usual "geek", such as formal logic, proof and verification, abstraction. I am very enthusiastic about formal Computer Science concepts applied in practice and regularly give talks on various topics from self-adjusting computations to performance sensitive programming. I'm happy to share or teach any of this!

I would love to learn more about any social science. A passion I sadly never managed to follow beyond rudimentaries.
