About Me

We are Melanie and Sebastian, 36 year old couple. We are currently travelling around Europe for three months. Our goal is not visiting all the attractions- it is more of an introspective trip and this is why we signed up for CS, to find out about and experience other cultures and lifestyles.

Hello my name is Sebastian
I live in a small city in Buenos Aires province in Argentina.

I am travelling around Europe on a sabbatical leave after having received an enticing business proposal but which went against my feeling of “Do I really want to make cheese for the rest of my life?” This has been a difficult decision as I am using up my life savings, but I believe it is for a good cause: to reconsider where my life is going.
I am an IT tech, I have done a 3 year System Analyst and Programming course where I acquired the basic tools to develop and apply in a small dairy and cheese industry. I was in charge of the cheese factory for 14 years doing all sorts of chores ranging from cheese making to developing marketing strategies.

I am also a guitar player in a local jazz band and permanent musician in the Lincoln Conservatory Orchestra, so I can definitely share knowledge in this field!
Other hobbies are 3D design and 3D printing, cartoon drawings, always searching for a way to channel my skills into something more meaningful to myself and others. This is why I am generally interested in art and technology.
In short, I know a little about everything but specialise in nothing. I am perfecting my English skills (had a little help from Mel here ;D), mainly written, but I am a fluent speaker.

My name is Melanie, everyone calls me Mel. My occupation up to a month ago was teaching English as a second language in Argentina.
I was born in this country to an Anglo-Argentine family, so I grew up in two languages and in a way two different cultures! I started off my working life in the hospitality and tourism industry, but after a while discovered my real passion was in teaching. Having the native language I easily stepped into the world of education and have been doing it for the past 10-12 years.
I think my skills are related to any type of service, giving and sharing knowledge with other people. My computer skills are basic but I am always interested in learning and curious to embrace new technologies.
I love music and cooking, conversations and enjoying life in a happy and peaceful way.
I think I got to the point in my career where I need to rediscover my passion and I believe education is in a great need of change or maybe just my view of it!
When we met with Sebas we very quickly discovered we had the same questions and doubts about life as we had it, so together we embarked on this trip which was a pending dream for both.
