About Me
I am! ...That's about my biggest achievement x)
I love to travel and to see and experience new countries off the beaten paths. I'm a big fan of music, playing the drums and a bit of guitar myself. I've been told I can be funny under certain particular circumstances. Being awake is the most crucial of those circumstances, which I tend to be most of the day.
...geez I don't like self-portrayals. Such a narrow path between pretentiousness and appearing like a bore. I'm fun to be around, and I am always up for new adventures. That sums it up pretty well, don't you think?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Well, I think the more people you meet, the broader your horizon gets. That's why I've been traveling on and off for 4 years, mainly Down Under but hoping to fill out all the blanks on my globe trotting rather sooner than later. I used to couchsurf quite a bit in New Zealand but my profile got put to sleep when I was studying in Germany and didn't have time or space to be a host myself. I think couchsurfing is the best way to get to know a country, and that's what traveling should be about: getting to know the country/people/culture, not the shopping malls/tours/resorts.
Interests
I am a dedicated musician, listening and playing to a big variety of styles. I played in funk-, thrashmetal-, pop-rock- and jazzbands and countless projects from e-ukulele+drums to metalcore. Other than that I love to play around with nun-chucks. I learned that in New Zealand and have established some skill in flinging and throwing them around, lighting them on fire occasionally to show off ;)
I like to go on hiking tours as well. The past few months I've enjoyed many beautiful walks down here in Tasmania including parts of the world famous Overland track.
Books, movies and series play a part in my life, too although that's mostly for rainy or sick days when activities outside are not really an option.
