About Me
ABOUT ME
Hi everyone, this is Seb.
Growing up in the village of China, I was really curious about the outside world. It was just simply interesting for me to see how people in different part of the world live their lives. Out of this motivation I spent four years studying German in the university in a big city of China, making it the start to explore the world. Now I'm studying in Germany, experiencing and enjoying my time in a totally different culture.
I don't plan for the future because I think there are many unforeseeable factors in it and I'd rather take time enjoying what happens in the moment. A short term plan for like weeks, months, or one semester is however welcome and VERY VERY IMPORTANT in Germany.
Life mission 1: Getting to know about myself and be a better person.
Life mission 2: Getting to know about the world and be a helpful member of the community/society
I don't see the two missions as independent or hierarchical ones. I benefit from the cultural differences between China and Germany and this changes my way of thinking, doing things and communicating with people in some way. The more differeces I experience, the more impotant I think it is to keep open-minded and be sensible to what exists and happens to you.
So to sum up I would say I'm a open-minded nice person who tries to explore the world and shape a better himself.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing since 2011 as I knew there is such an awsome community to connect people. My first couching experience was in 2013 where I was hosted by a friendly guy during my trip in Suzhou, China. It was really amazing that he trusted me so much. So far my couchsurfing experiences are only positive and I would definitely deliver the kindness of Couchsurfing once I can also provide a comfortable bed or couch to people.
Couchsurfing is a terrific idea because it connects people from different parts of the world in a visable way. As a visitor you gain not only a sight of the place where you visit but also a connection and company from local and it's surely a great way to cut down some cost of the journey.
Interests
I like sports like swimming, Badminton, Volleyball (bad at it, but enjoy the process of learning and getting better and also how to cooperate with teammates). Started fitness training just a few months ago and I think I'll keep on it because I want to be stronger!
Travelling to different places, getting to know new people, enjoying the local specialities let me know better about this world we are living in. I'm especially interested in the history of a place. Knowing about the history is one of the ways how I feel connected to a place and loving it.
I'm also into films and talk show or books of some celebrities I appreciate like Jin Xing and Helmut Schmidt.
Geogrophy, Psychology and Architecture are also my interests.

Music, Movies, and Books
As for music I don't really have a preferred type. Sry to say that I don't know much about music but I appreciate people who are good at a music instrument. I always listen to both pop and classic music as long as the melody is beautiful.
Movie: Forrest Gump -- an absolute spiritual inspirement
Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon -- the beauty of Chinese culture in various perspectives.
Also Kongfu films are fantastic.
Book: Außer Dienst from Helmut Schmidt. Actually what attracts me is the author himself rather than the book because of his great heart, open mind, tolerant understanding of different cultures and his honesty.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I sponsered my very first trip in 2011 after my work in the summer.
