Overview
About Me
CURRENT MISSION
To accrue as much knowledge as I can through interaction
ABOUT ME
I am a person driven by knowledge and nature. I love to learn as much as I can about the world both through static information sources and preferably real world observation and interaction. I also love sharing my knowledge with others. I love to chat about things such as biology, the sciences, philosophy (I am happy to talk pro or con most things regardless of my personal views), religion (I love learning from all religions, but prefer to talk in open minded settings about it)
I grew up rural, but went to a city high-school and university and have spent a large amount of time in both settings.
I have worked multiple jobs including retail, farming and promotions. But the vast majority of my work experience has been in outdoor education and childcare mainly in camps and on cruise ships. The past few years I have worked as a Ranger in NZs national parks.
PHILOSOPHY
I believe everyone has something to teach you regardless of of who they are or how old they are.
I believe very much in nature and animals and believe they too have much to teach us if we get among them and are willing to listen to what they are saying.
I believe in live and let live, everyone should enjoy all freedoms as long as they aren't hurting anybody/anything in the process.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I don't currently have a space to offer due to my habit of always moving, and never being in control of the places I stay. But if you are visiting Paparoa National Park, we could possibly meet up. Or you can hit me up for general advice around the area.
I would love to meet more locals (or even non locals) in the locations I visit.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I have stayed with a couple people so far and met a few surfers. All my experiences have been positive so far.
I am happy to answer any questions to help you quantify me.

Music, Movies, and Books
Very open to pretty much any form of media.
Music I will listen to a piano solo and follow it up with eurobeat dubstep. I like pop(Especially in languages I don't understand, independant, different. I guess I dont listen to much Opera but I could handle it.
I watch a pretty large number of movies. I really love animated movies (2d, 3d, 4d, reald, computer, traditional, American, Japanese (Anime), Korean, European, English etc etc). But also love comedy, docos, horror, independant, cultral, artsy. Pretty much if you put it on, or recomend it I will watch it.
Books - I dont read as much as I should, and when I do its virtually always non-fiction. I love reading about science and nature, ideas and philosophies.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Wildflower season in Death Valley CA. Seeing bursts of life in such a harsh environment is amazing.
Seeing Geysir (where the name geyser comes from) in Iceland. Although it didnt erupt strokkur only a few meters away was bursting 20 - 30m every 5 mins.
Working in conservation has allowed me to be involved in several awesome projects with many people passionate about nature. I have been involved in several wildlife releases (mostly Westland Petrel) and love hearing about research people are doing to better understand our natural world.
