ABOUT ME
I am an epicurian, loving to enjoy the life as it comes; I believe to be open-minded, and always appreciate to learn about people's life and experiences.
I might be at first a bit quiet when I meet new people, but after few minutes of talking I generally get along with everyone: never afraid of getting more points of view about things I think I know perfectly.
PHILOSOPHY
I enjoy the present, and don't want to set all my future to follow the beaten tracks. I like to add random choices as much as possible, most likely to surprise myself! That's exactly that philosophy that led me to quit my job to travel for 4 months in South America!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I started CouchSurfing as a host, because, well, I was not travelling much - but then I saw the other side of it during a 4-month trip in South America.
I enjoy both sides really, as in any case, it's the best way to hear interesting stories and learn more from other people experience.
At the moment I can't host anyone, but I do miss a bit showing Edinburgh and surroundings to people.
Interests
I like to meet people to speak about any topic with friends or random people to share human experience. I enjoy hiking, alone or with friends, and to discover new landscapes as I travel. I love cooking, eating and partying, the best being doing the three things at the same time: that's when people are happy that discussions get interesting!
Music, Movies, and Books
As for music, it varies according to what I'm doing and my mindset, but it goes from rock (Led Zeppelin, Ten Years After, Magma, Frank Zappa) to psybient and downtempo (OTT or Stellardrone); that strange stretch of taste includes jazz and minimal electro, so really, a bit of everything!
For books, I don't have much time to read, but again, a bit of any kind (which is not romance-filled). Last few: The Eagle Quest (Wolf), Under the Skin (Faber), Oblomov (Goncharov).
I like movies that do not follow standards, because, well, why watching the same story rewritten with different characters again and again? I would recommend Old Boy (the Korean version!), El Espero de los Otros, Wild Tales
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
The best thing could be having hiked in the Highlands under a blindingly bright sun during a 4-day roadtrip, but it might be not such an uncommon experience.
Let's say that climbing up a cathedral and ringing the bells at 2AM was the most amazing thing I have done!
Teach, Learn, Share
I enjoy talking about politics and how societies work - or more widely, about the infinite topic that being and the way they interact is.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer stories about my previous travels as well an ear to listen other people's stories. And of course I can cook food, I always appreciate discovering new things, so if I can give few to others...
