About Me

CURRENT MISSION

to see (and hear) Sigur Rós in the flesh

ABOUT ME

Awkwardly talking to myself out loud. Ehh, it happens. I get on with frozen mango chunks prettttyy well. And frozen blueberries! Some fruit just perform better frozen.

PHILOSOPHY

In general, people need to be touched more. Also, cooking with friends.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Workin' on it.

Interests

New music, live music, making postcards, watching Arrested Development, newspapers, the occasional cigar, making mix cds and giving them to people, doing my best to not confuse Spanish and German in my head, skipping to get you there faster, the library, day dreaming at work, walking outside-sometimes on an incline, thinking of food to make, dancing (sometimes like a crazy asshole).

Music, Movies, and Books

Lots 'o music; esp The Roots, Band of Horses, Mew, Fettes Brot. And I'm constantly looking for new tunes to listen to--I welcome any and all suggestions.

One day I'll reach the point where I can read Nietzsche auf Deutsch and then I'll really want to scratch my eyes out/be really proud that I've reached that kind of mental capacity. Until that day comes I enjoy the word play of Amiee Bender, Chuck Klosterman and Arjun Appadurai.

Some Like it Hot is up there. Michele Gondry films, Cohen Brothers, and anything that's got Gael Garcia Bernal in it. I also enjoy trying to figure out anything Ingmar Bergman put out. Also, unrelated, if you haven't seen it you should look up "The Danish Poet" on youtube; it's a fantastic animated short.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The jazz club in Harlem knocked my socks off. Successfully navigating complicated maps while intoxicated.

Teach, Learn, Share

We all could to learn to see more shades of grey. But more specifically, I can tell you the best way to pack a car. Can you tell me how to best pack the dishwasher?
