About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Life is about an adventure worth taking, making friends and memories.
ABOUT ME
I was born in Vietnam but raised in Oregon, USA, Pacific ocean side of the country. I went to engineering school, got my degrees and left feeling I did the wrong studies. I enjoy being around people more than machinery and I'm more artistically inclined. People's stories of their travels or of their life, their philosophies and adventures fascinates me. I've driven across 26 states of USA for 6 weeks, sleeping in the car at rest areas. I have not traveled much and hope to remedy that. However, I have found one thing certain about my travels - different places but the people are generally the same - friendly and helpful.
PHILOSOPHY
- We're all strangers, until we're not.
- Life is about a series of choices whether you chose not to do something is still a choice.
- At the end of my life, I would like to look back and say I lived fully and have little regrets.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I couchsurfed throughout England and hosted at my place. Great experiences.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I went to a party were the host told stories of his travels in Africa and couch surfing. It was a strange concept for me but now I think it's awesome! What a great way to travel, instant friends and a place to crash.
Interests
I'm a typical Oregonian. I don't mind the rain and love the outdoors.
Outdoors: hike, bike, camp, kayaking, scuba diving, caving, and trying rock climbing next. I like chasing waterfalls and love being in a hot spring.
Culture: I love museums, Smithsonain Museum of Natural History. Wicked is my favorite performance art.
Dancing: I'm not good at it but I like it - swing, salsa, square dance, western two step
Art: Sometimes I paint acrylic. Lately, it's fixing things around the house and Photoshop
I like good conversations. I was told I'm a quick thinker. People seem to like my cooking.

Books - sci-fi/fantasy. I like Terry Pratchett disc world.
Movies - I watch too many movies. Marvel comic movies, Cloud Atlas, Life of Pi, Star Trek 2009, John Carter of Mars, Inception, Limitless, Avatar, Princess Bride, Harry Potter, RED, Ted, Zach & Mira makes a porn, Clerks, incredibles, kung fu panda, toy story, monsters, spirited away, amelie, delicatessen
Music - 80s/90s rock and occasional country.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Seen - My 5 years old niece asked her uncle to make a sand ball. I had no idea what she wanted. I saw my family all together for the first time on the beach laughing rather than bickering while making sand balls to compete and see who made the best sand ball. My sand ball broke the first round.
Done - Raft class II rapids on a dingy rubber boat meant for one person with a total of two people on a dangerous river that we have never heard of just because the waters looked awesome. Complete stranger called to us to get out before the 3rd and final rapids because we could kill ourselves. You only live once, right? Worth it.
Teach, Learn, Share
