About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Exploring all the hidden places of the world
ABOUT ME
After living in the Netherlands for a year, i got fond of the idea of being everywhere and nowhere and though this was a very small country, i still managed to see loads and was always surprised about how many interesting people you could meet even in very remote locations.
After finishing my undergraduate degree in Germany, I went off to Iceland to explore some more.
The last two years I spent in a very remote location of the world in western Montana, just at the foothills of Glacier National Park. There I could foster my love for environmental education and get a first hand experience of living in the wilderness.
Currently I am living outside of Linkoping, Sweden with my husband Adam and our Dog Bailey in a small little cabin next to the woods after having finished my Master's Programme there.
When I'm not busy with learning how to get more self-sustained, by starting a little vegetable garden or raising our own chickens, I am always trying to get away and see some new and also familiar things all around the world, because there is so much to discover and I'm always a little sad thinking that we can never experience it all. That's why I'm trying to get out and learn as much as possible!
PHILOSOPHY
Seize the Day!
Only people who have nothing to look forward to are obsessed about the past.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Me and my husband share a little cabin with a yard in Vimarka, Sweden, about 15 minutes from Linkoping. We have a couch and some room to put up insulation mats. We can also give a little tour around the beautiful area.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
The thing which attracts me the most on couchsurfing is to continuously get to know so many different people and different stories at a time you could waste alone in some hotel, that's why I always try to see as many couches as possible on a trip! In the past, I have surfed a lot. Now that we are a little more settled I'd like to give back what I got from my hosts in hosting myself.
Interests
Mostly culture and society of other countries, the nature and enyoing it while being outside most of the time, the human being and its different ways of acting, literature and drama to be entertained, conversations in different languages..and a nice beer with friends, of course!

Music, Movies, and Books
Grindhouse Features. The Cabinet of Dr Caligari. All the seasons of Black Mirror and Planet Earth
Any herbal medicine book I can get my hands on.
Generally, I'm trying to read as much as one can in a lifetime, which I am not always sucessful with. Max Frisch, Haruki Murakami and Huxley are one of my favorites.
Music really depends on my mood....from the atmospheric Sigur Ros to psychedelic Moondog or the funky Temptations. and I like guitars.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It's just a way of seeing things to categorize something as important but for me, one of my hiking tours in the italian alps was amazing, at that time my first one above 3000m and filled with little adventures in abandoned mountain villages on the way up.
The piece of cheese i got after a whole day without any food and another 3 hours of hitchhiking with a nice norwegian guy.
I should also add the former mayor of Rekjavik, who picked me up hitchhiking and turned out to be the nicest guy while he was showing me around the huge piece of Canyonland owned by his grandmother where we shared nice insights in life sitting around the campfire.
Teach, Learn, Share
I could try to teach some basic accords on the guitar as a start.
You can try your luck in archery in our yard.
Our dog is always up for an adventure, if you like playing and running around with the sweetest guy ever.
What I Can Share with Hosts
hitchhiking experiences, tips for good hiking and camping in the area, naturalizing, discussions on political and social issues, a positive outlook on life and some basics in the wonderful german language
