ABOUT ME
In November 2009 we finished a two-year Peace Corps stint in Samoa where we were volunteer teachers. We spent three months in Southeast Asia spring/summer 2010. Then in 2012 it was 10 weeks in Western Kenya. In 2013 it was a whirlwind work trip for Sara to the MENA region and two short days in Costa Rica. Sara took MBA students to Ghana for 10 days in 2015 and to Cape Town for a week in 2016. Though work limits our mobility these days, we still love to travel and meet new people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
We have met many wonderful and interesting people as hosts. They have offered lots of great travel insight. We have had nothing but good experiences when we have surfed as well. We stayed with one host for almost two weeks and had a great time. Members of the couchsurfing community have provided invaluable advice and friendship.
Now that we are state-side we have fewer surfers, but still make quality relationships. We met the person who house-sat for us the summer we were in Kenya as a coachsurfer who crashed with us for two nights when he first moved to town.
We had great times with couch surfers and loved hosting people. We hope to host more when we live somewhere more exciting and accessible and we have more reasonable work schedules.
