About Me

My first impressions are tricky, I'm sarcastic, direct, blunt and not in the least bit shy to express my opinions. It's always interesting to see how people react to that. Essentially, I try to make people around me laugh with me or at me, I love my ability to laugh at myself. Perhaps if you laugh along, we might have a shot at getting along ;)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Connecting with people throughout the world gives me a buzz (this is a reference you will get if you read Quiet)

Interests

Intelligent conversation, Contemplating our purpose on life and how to go about achieving it, Diving, Travel, Coffee, Literature (any of the classics, world history which I admittedly know very little of, biology), Beaches, Mountains/Volcanoes, Long Walks, Food Food Food

Music, Movies, and Books

My taste in these vary widely depending on what life phase I'm going through. Currently listening to The Strokes and more indie/ alternative pop/rock, reading Quiet (dissecting introverted and extroverted nature in today's world) and movies we can talk about when I actually have time to watch some (Mullholland Drive- awesome)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Would be the most recent 24 hour bus ride I took from Tana Toraja to Kendari, from a crazy chain smoking bus driver (the number of times we had to swerve off road to avoid slamming into a motorcyclist is unsettling), to witnessing the savage murder of a beatiful 2m long python, to starving because it's almost impossible to eat vegetarian here, to experiencing soreness and cramps of a whole new scale from immobility... Definitely something I would recommend for someone who wants to experience Indonesia in a nutshell.

Teach, Learn, Share

I study medicine, so I welcome all questions related. I speak fluent English, relatively fluent Bahasa Indonesia, Bahasa Melayu and Tamil. I am learning German. Any form of language exchange would be great.

What I Can Share with Hosts

All the interesting experiences I have had in trying to travel as much as I can, despite coming from a semi conservative Asian family and being a full time medical student. It's a handful.

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Czech Republic, Denmark, Egypt, England, Finland, Germany, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Norway, Scotland, Singapore, Sweden, Thailand, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Indonesia, Malaysia
