About Me

I just returned to London after living in Liberia for 3.5 years. I worked there as a statistician in the development sector, my job allowed me to work with hundreds of amazing Liberians and travel all over the crazy wild country. I left bittersweet, happy to come back to Europe, but sad to leave the chaos behind.

People from all over the world... yeah, that's what I like. I've had my fair share of flatmates in the last three years, from a Swedish, Pakistani, 3 Danes, a Belgian, a few Americans from different parts of the West coast, an Australian (with her Lebanese boyfriend), a Jamaican couple and I'm sure a few more. Its always been amazing to have new people in my home, always ending up as more of a community than a flatshare. I love the diversity in personalities, and cultures, and thought processes, and talents and ideas.

I love playing backgammon and placing wagers! And poker, but I'm horrible at bluffing, and a bunch of other board games depending on my mood, Risk is a favourite. Food is an essential part of my life (I mean for more than just survival), but I'm not a great cook. Good quality simple Italian food is my favourite. I love walking around cities and getting lost in my own thoughts alone. I always want to travel alone more but generally tend to fear it for some silly reason.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to travel more in Europe, alone but also with a local connection, to meet people from different regions, as I'm sure most would agree its the best way to travel! And of course to enjoy the "luxury" of budget travelling ;) I believe I'm good company, genuine, open, honest, expressive, and would happy to offer up some drinks. I won't stretch my gratitude to cooking for a host because trust me when I say, it won't be great!

Music, Movies, and Books

Eclectic taste in all of the above. I love watching movies but have a horrible memory for them.

Great company and conversation - is this cheeky? Maybe but hopefully true! Lots of stories and experiences from years in West Africa. A game of backgammon, and potentially a Pakistani meal (if the right ingredients are available!)
