I'm Selena Mara, singer, musician, community-builder, nature lover. I live with my partner Josh and 2 daughters Sasha and Melody aged 12 and 15, in South Devon, which is a very beautiful area with moors, rivers, and beaches nearby.

We've lived in this area since the year 2000, and in the past we've often hosted volunteers from WWOOFF, workaway and helpex.

I and my partner have always tried to live an eco-friendly lifestyle. We usually grow a lot of food in our garden but this year we're having a break from that. I've always enjoyed meeting people from different countries and cultures and I really enjoy speaking other languages whenever possible.

I have been taking part in environmental campaigns and direct action since 1992.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

Partly to welcome interesting travellers to our beautiful part of the world and meet people from different backgrounds. Partly so I can stay places when I go travelling myself.

You may see that I have been a member since 2015 but I don't have any references. Don't worry about this,its just because I hadn't completed my profile or got round to joining Couchsurfing fully.

I'll be travelling in France in the first half of August; and will be ready to accept guests from the 20th of August onwards.

兴趣

I love all kinds of folk and world music and I love jamming. I play mandolin, recorder and hand drums. My partner and I teach Breton Dance and also play the traditional music for it. I like organising outdoor events and going camping, swimming in wild places, and hiking.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I spent from 1994 to 2000 walking across the Westcountry ( UK) with a bunch of friends called the Dongas Tribe. We carried our homes and our belongings with us everywhere, transporting them on handcarts. We travelled across 7 counties,and busked music on the streets to get by. It was a very special time.

I'm pretty good at identifying wild plants and I know quite a bit about which ones you can eat or drink as teas.
I can teach singing, recorder, mandolin.
I know a lot of traditional and contemporary European folk songs.
I can do hair-wraps for you or your children ( pretty coloured threads in your hair)
I'm good at sewing and I'm not a bad cook
I'm a good writer
