About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I used to be on a mission to find the Holy Graal. But nowadays I'll be happy enough if i'm able to complete the mission of finding myself somewhere in this world...

ABOUT ME

I am an ordinary human being with extraordinary expectations, and that have been causing some turbulences in my so called life. I believe that I am very much alike other people in my age, specially those ones who have been beaten, but still get up every day a go outside simply to live the best they can.
I'm a believer, and a bit of a dreamer and no matter what, I try to do my best- even if a don't succeed sometimes. I'm sort of living a dream: moved out to Europe to study, working hard (in a great place, with great people) to save $ to travel and get to know other places, other people. But I am aware there's lots to do, to know, to see. And I'm willing to walk the distance and discover theses things, places and know all the nice people life has to introduce me to. In the meantime,if by any chance I get to know and understand myself, it would be gas...

PHILOSOPHY

Do the best you can, try to be kind to everybody or, if that is almost impossible to do, be respectful. Respect is the most important thing and the very least you can give to a person. You don't need to like them, you don't even need to agree with them. But respect their right to be the way they are, think whatever they do and let them be...

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm a noobie in CS, but I've hosted and been host several times to friends, friends of friends and family (believe me: if you can host a family member for more than a week, you can pretty much do anything in your life. True Story).
As a guest, I'm very easy going and I'll do my best to adequate to whatever I find. Resilience is important when you want to travel around and meet people from so different cultures and costumes. I'm more than willing to help with household duties, I love to cook and talk and to go philosophical about life, the universe and everything else (geek much? xD)
As a host, I'm pretty easy going and just hope that whoever is coming can meet me half way and be as adaptable as I am in this amazing dance that is coexistence...

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am a rookie in CS. I've never been surfing or hosting surfers formally before. But I've surfed and hosted friends and friends of friends in Brazil and in Dublin. So I pretty much can say I kinda know the deal... =)

Interests

Culture. Music, books, movies, TV shows, Comics, Cartoons. I love absolutely everything that's made from the endless fountain of human imagination.
Singing makes my days way brighter and writing helps me dealing with everything that goes roller-coastering in my mind.
I really like people, getting to know them, chating, having the craic with them. At leas most of the time... ('everybody needs sometime on their own' Rose,Axel (1992), an A-team philosopher =D)

Music, Movies, and Books

Books:
I'm a bookaholic. I read pretty much everything that I find - yeas, I'm fearless - from comics to philosophy, from chick-lit to classics, from the critics sweethearts to basket case literature... If I was to mention every single book I like, I'd write hundreds of pages and we'll be certainly bored to death. So, here goes some...

The Neverending Story - Michael Ende
One Hundred Years of Solitude - Gabriel García Márquez
The Little Prince - Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
The Lord of the Rings - J.R.R. Tolkien
Stardust - Neil Gaiman
Good Omens - Neil Gaiman, Terry Pratchett
Pride and Prejudice - Jane Austen
Harry Potter Series - J.K. Rowling
High Fidelity - Nick Hornby
A Long Way Down - Nick Hornby
The Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy - Douglas Adams

Brazilian / Portuguese Authors:
Fernando Pessoa - the complete work. I love absolutelly anything he wrote.
A Marca de uma Lágrima - Pedro Bandeira
A Hora da Estrela - Clarice Lispector
O Clube dos Anjos - Luís Fernando Veríssimo
As Mentiras que os Homens Contam - Luís Fernando Veríssimo
Carlos Drummond de Andrade
Cecília Meirelles

Movies:
I like movies just because. I often write to a site things that I like to call "non-critics", because it's not like I'm an expert on the seventh art or anything. I'm just a very sweet smart ass who likes to write about everything as if I was an expert =)

Ethernal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Spirited Away
Pan's Labyrinth
Finding Neverland
Up
Wall-e
Lost in Translation
Black Swan
The Social Network
Lord of the Rings Trilogy
Breakfast at Tiffany's
Singing in th Rain

This list is unfinished. I need to list musical interests and probably I'll remember more movies and books, 'cause that's how my memory works. So updates will happen.

And just because I said I like something it doesn't mean I can quote every little thing about it. Maybe some references will pop up during a very nice conversation, because I do that - yeah, lame, I know =) - but that's all.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

CS software has asked me for 2 astonishing moments

- When I realized that, no matter what I'd do to pay my bills, I would always be an artist, because music runs in my veins, writing talks to my soul...
- When I landed in Ireland it was surreal. I kinda got speechless for three aweful seconds and the immigration officer must have thought I was bananas.

Countries I’ve Visited
