Heyy everyone!! I'm Selin from Turkey. I'm 20 years old. I currently live in Istanbul but my goal is to be a location independent soon. My mother is Russian and father is Turkish but I mostly grew up in Turkey. I'm currently studying in Bogazici University in Istanbul in the psychology department, but other than school my passion in life is music and piano. I've been playing piano for 10 years and composing my own music. Other than music, I am into street photography and I often arrange photography trips with my friends. Also lately I've started to pose as a model for some photographers for fun and I really love hanging out with amateur/professional photographers, wandering around the streets and be a part of creating beautiful compositions in random streets.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

After discovering Coachsurfing thanks to my friends Ozan and Sarah, my way of thinking about travelling completely changed. I've realized that by only sightseeing and going to the most aesthehtically beautiful and so-called''must-go'' places you can't really say that you've seen and got that country's actual feeling. To really experience that country you have to meet locals, you have to visit the off-beaten paths and it is not gonna be about feeling joy and pleasure everytime, but this is the point indeed. You have to challenge yourself to go deep into that country.
Till now, thanks to Coachsurfing I built many new and long-lasting friendships and met many locals as well as internationals. I saw beautiful houses, I got offered local food and I lived the most unforgettable experiences of my life.

I'm a keyboard player in some rock bands, but I'm a classical-trained pianist also so I get pleasure from both Rock and Classical music. There is not a limit in my music preferences actually, I can headbang in a Metallica concert or dance in an old-school German hip-hop. You can check my Spotify lists and you will understand :D

What I Can Share with Hosts
