Overview
About Me
I feel at home where I can see the water- see the reflections of the seaside, the current swirling the colors together like oil paints, endless canvases of infinite detail morphing and blending. I feel at home when the breeze tickles my hair and brings sweet smells to my nose. I feel at home walking alongside the sounds of music and voices on the street, strings vibrating against the air, syllables vibrating in people's throats. I feel at home in a stranger's handshake, their nod of the head as a roof over mine, their smile as a warm bed to sleep in at night.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I love hearing people's stories of travel and life, I could listen to someone tell stories for days. I honestly just love people actually. Everyone has something interesting to share, and I hope that by meeting as many different people as I can, I could maybe soak up a little of each person. I would like to be clear in saying I do not see couchsurfing as a dating platform or to meet up with people. Please respect this.
Interests
I enjoy a good living room dance party. I practice yoga and planned to go to India this past summer to become a yoga teacher--- but I instead used the money to travel for northern India and Rajasthan for 3 months. I love photography, singing, playing instruments when I find them (I played violin and guitar for some time), and all kinds of art. I am a strict vegan and active in animal rights causes. I crochet and knit a little, as well as sew when I have the chance. I love cute streets, small animals, and I laugh at bad jokes.

Music, Movies, and Books
I love all kinds of music- from hip hop to country. I don't watch movies very often because I am quite energetic and can't always sit through the whole thing, so I find myself watching only parts of movies. My favorite book of all time is Genome, by Matt Ridley. It's an interesting book, exploring genes on each chromosome that lead to disease or changes in our bodies and minds.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
During my stay in India, I attended a 10 day vipassana meditation course in which I sat in noble silence for 10 days. It was definitely a mind-blowing (and tough) experience, and I'm a changed person because of it!
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm hoping to learn German and Arabic, but I definitely struggle with new languages so we'll see how that goes. I also love hearing new music (in different languages and styles is even more fun) and trying new sports. If you have any cool dance moves, please share!
