PHILOSOPHY

Shit Happens, But So Do Miracles!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have been both surfing and hosting. I try to take part with a communal spirit where I think share/help/spread love.

The best way to see news places, meet people and actually learn things about the place you're travelling in! All CSers I have met have been amazing to me and I am super excited to return the favour when I return to China.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It's been so much fun. And it has opened up doors to places and personalities that I probably would have missed out on. I love this non-commercial clever idea - It brings tons of joy.

MUSIC:
A life without music is shit. :D
But I am not able to play instruments or even sing (for sure: nobody wants to hear that).
So I "just" listen to music: Brit Rock, Classical Pop, Folk, Jazz, Post Punk, Post Rock, Rock n Roll, sounds of nature - depends on my mood.

BOOKS:
Magazines about travel, outdoors, photography and design.
Opus of Modern Literature. Tuesdays With Morrie

MOVIES:
The Blind Side, Out of Africa, Into the Wild, L'extravagant voyage du jeune et prodigieux T.S. Spivet, Die andere Heimat, Maria Larssons eviga ögonblick

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Around 5am, lights on the way to circumambulate Mount Kailash. Hope, mercy, belief, BRAVO! It is cool to got some hail rattled on my raincoat when I hiked on the Drolma La Pass which at an altitude of 5700m!

57 vehicles, 57 days, hitchhiked alone around Sinkiang, Tibet of West China as well as Nepal in Jul & Aug of 2014. Have been to Tibet twice between 2013 to 2014, hitchhiked 3 of the main roads head to Tibet. Stark mountains, calm lakes, sacred Tibetan Buddhism, sincere believers... can't be more heart-shaking!

Cycled along the coast for 800km, hitchhiked 3000km around Vietnam, met or be hosted by some of the CSers again and again during my 50 days' VN adventure from Jan to March, 2015.

Stayed with a lovely Karen family for days in a mountain village in North Thailand. They dressed me well in traditional Karen clothes, went to church and prepared the Sunday performance with all the villagers.

The most peaceful days in my life, 10-day Vipassana meditation course in Pyin Oo Lwin, Myanmar.

Taiwan should be the place I wanna spend the rest of my life. CARPE DIEM.

Countries I’ve Visited
