About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Enjoying life as much as possible
ABOUT ME
I believe I am a very optimistic and active person. I studied social anthropology (nooo, it has nothing to do with archeology) and Spanish linguistics, in Amsterdam. During my studies I have worked as a volunteer with streetchildren in Honduras, done my masterresearch in Venezuela and enjoyed the Erasmus program for a year in Madrid. At the moment I already live in Gran Canaria for 3 years. The island has so much more to offer than drunk tourists on sunny beaches!
PHILOSOPHY
Carpe diem.
I believe I think too much about life, way too much to write down here. I already have my diary for that. But in a nut shell I think we should enjoy every minute of life, even the bad times. They make us enjoy the good times even better. We should embrace all experiences and be open to all people. You miss so much of life if you don´t open up yourself to new situations and persons. Don´t waist your time complaining, but love life.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I like to host and to be hosted, but also to meet people for drinks, dinner, excursions, etc.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Once during a night out in my hometown Amsterdam I saw two guys sleeping on a chair in a bar of a hostal. The receptionist told me they couldn´t find a place to stay because everything was full due to the gay pride that weekend. I decided to wake them up and take them home, where they could sleep in my bed and I would stay on the couch. They reacted surprised and even a bit frightened, asking me what I wanted from them. I explained that I had travelled a lot and that I had been welcomed in so many local homes that now I found a way to return the favor. Only a short time after this someone told me about the CS project. I immediately signed up but I didn´t get a chance to host anyone for a few years, as I went away again myself. Now, beginning 2011, I reactivated my account and I am looking forward to some CS experiences, as a host and as a surfer!!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
It´s very hard to point out specific amazing things (as skydiving in Australia, dancing salsa in a local Cuban bar, watching whales in Costa Rica right before entering the water for a scuba dive, enjoying the sunrise while still being awake after a good night out) because many times it includes a larger period of remarkable moments. So far I´ve had a great life. I´ve always chased my dreams and so far I don´t regret anything.
Teach, Learn, Share
Of course we learn from each other by the simple fact of spending some time together. Apart from that I am really looking forward to improve my German and French and to learn some words in other languages.
