About Me

Update:

I moved to a new WG just next to the Poppelsdorf Palace. Guests are welcome.

I am a Ph.D. student at Uni Bonn. I am from India. I am living in Bonn since 4 years. My physical appearance is nothing unique. I am taller than most short people and shorter than most tall people. If you could break my shell, you will find a warm, kind-hearted person. At the moment, I am in a love hate relationship with me Ph.D. life. I am preparing myself for world tour after my Ph.D. studies.

If you are nerdy or just curious about my research interests, here is my Uni web page:
http://ais.uni-bonn.de/~periyasa/

I jog regularly. You can see my usual jogging route in on my pictures. I am learning Salsa in my free time as well.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I started using CS only as a cheap places to crash during my trips. But, the people I meet on CS, the experiences I had, the stories I listened to made me love CS.

"Sanskrit has ninety-six words for love, ancient Persian has eighty, Greek three, and English only one. We are close to dying of loneliness because we only have one word for love" : I am here, in this life and this community, to learn the full alphabet of loving.

This phrase reflects why I am on couch surfing.
Traveling is not about vising buildings and places. Its about experiencing. Its about spreading love.
I like the idea that you can trust a stranger and get to know someone awesome through your travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: French new wave (Godard is one of my all time favorite movie makers), akira kurosawa, quentin tarantino, christopher nolan, David Fincher.

Music: Techno, New-age, Rock.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

1. A road trip from Bonn to Innsbruck across the Alps.

Why stop at one if you lot of stories to tell.

2. My research group regularly participates in international robotics competitions. We are also quite good and won numerous competitions. In such competition we won ~1.3 Million USD. More details on that here:
http://ais.uni-bonn.de/nimbro/MBZIRC/

3. A house boat weekend in the river Lahn, Germany. We were 4 of us and one of my friends holds license to drive a motor boat. It was a great experience stay in the boat for 3 days, driving the boat through 14 locks (including both ways 28 locks in total, Ja, that's a lot)

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: If we meet in Summer and lucky to have a good weather, I can teach you Kayaking.
Learn: something about other cultures, languages and more importantly food.
Share: A lot of food at my place, nice conversations, good music and a lot of hugs and love.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I live in a shared apartment and would be suitable for short stays. In the weekends, I can join guests for sightseeing but unfortunately, during the weekdays my schedule is packed. Feel free to mail me if you wanna crash at my place.
