About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm out to have good conversations, chill with people to learn about different places or cultures, and learn more about anything and everything. I love learning, and I enjoy a chance to see the lens through which others perceive their world.

ABOUT ME

I'm a small-town guy, but I like to travel and talk with people from different places, cultures, and backgrounds. I'm laid back and easy going, but not passive. I have a dry, satirical, and sarcastic sense of humor. I believe I communicate well, and I tend to be patient. I wish to be hospitable with any space that God has given me. *I will do whatever I can to allow short-notice requests.

PHILOSOPHY

I aim to be hospitable, open, and warm. My hope is that you will feel comfortable here . I'm genuinely interested in your beliefs no matter how similar or different they are to mine.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've done a few official couch-surfing nights during conferences or visiting people. However,I have done a lot more of unofficial couch surfing whether on tour from school crashing at peoples' houses from NW Iowa to NYC or traveling through Central America relying on the hospitality of locals for food and shelter.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I listen to a lot of music, but have a few general rules. No country. Lots of bass and/or sick percussion. Genres I especially like are metalcore, rap, acoustic, Latin/Russian choral music, and alternative punk. I'll listen to virtually anything.

Books: I like political philosophy, sociological studies, and Theology or memoirs for books. I also love a good satirical author like Steven Colbert or Dave Barry.

For easy reading, I tend to like post-apocalyptic dystopian stuff or adventure/fantasy (divergent, hunger games, harry potter)

Movies: Just about anything. Comedy, suspense/thriller, action, satires, etc. No westerns.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I consider my travels through Central American to have been amazing not because of their uniqueness, but because how it taught me to immerse myself in another culture even when that came at personal discomfort.

Teach, Learn, Share

I speak Spanish at a conversationally fluent level.
I want to talk about the Enneagram with you if you know about it.
I love knitting but I'm a beginner myself at this point.
I like driving stick shift.
I want to learn what you can teach.
