ABOUT ME

Born and raised in Stockholm, Sweden in a persian home with temperamental and eccentric parents. I managed to match the swedish and persian culture pretty well, get the best of both worlds. Now I'm working with performative arts in different formats(dance, performance, theater, drag...)

Things that I like: Queer and intersectional feminism, mathematics, art, non-materalism, dance.

I know a dancing style called Waacking, Waacking is a style of dance that came up in the 70’s, coming directly from the ‘funk’ & ‘disco’ era. It was born in the club environments but through television shows like Soul Train, it became very popular. This dance was developed to imitate stars/actresses/divas in silent films by utilizing complex arm movements, lines & poses. Their movement would be very developed and their musicality would be pushed. Waacking is now starting to resurface and it’s popularity is starting to grow as never before. Since then, waacking has evolved not just in it’s musical & cultural origins but also it started to appear in more and more other dance styles like; Jazz, latin dancing, funkstyles, sexy hip hop and others. This dance allows you to create a persona that could really vary in nature. Doesn’t matter whether it be a sexy, feminine or aggressive, as long as you express yourself and let yourself go to the music as in ‘diva-like’ which should be done fiercely. YEEEES!!!!
