About Me

Hi there! I'm Sequoia and I was born and raised in AZ. Currently I'm a server at a bar on a downtown-area in Tempe. My hobbies include reading, writing, hiking, listening to music, yoga, and spending time with friends. I'm super easy going and not hard to get along with.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Couchsurfing originally caught my interest when I heard about it from one of my closest friends. He has utilized it many many times on his adventures and it seems to be the perfect choice for cheap and thrill-seeking travelers. Now I'm traveling myself, and while I'm not looking for places to stay, my boyfriend Austin and I are eager to meet locals and get an authentic experience as we explore Europe together.

Music, Movies, and Books

I'm a huge fan of alternative/indie music some bands I love:
Borns
Hozier
Tennis
Tame Impalas
Glass Animals
Kongos
Alvvays
Flume
Mother Mother
Little Dragon
And many many more...
I read anything I can get my hands on but I have a particular love for how-to books and non-fiction in general (boring I know)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Last November, I traveled to Costa Rica with my mom for a charity event called Pura Vida No Pro. We spent a day taking orphans to the beach and giving them a day of fun they don't often get. Seeing the looks on the children's faces was priceless and moving, something you don't get to appreciate in every day life. It was a reminder that it truly is the little things that matter and even the smallest things can bring the most joy. I'll always remember little Naomi falling asleep in my arms sticky with ice cream after a full day of playing in the ocean. The memories I made in Costa Rica drive me to have more fun and moving adventures all over the world, making connections and memories all along the way.

Teach, Learn, Share

I believe in taking the small things and turning them into something great. I don't know much but what I do know is that we all have something to learn from each other. One of life's greatest gifts is the ability to share experiences with other humans and to create memories together.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share great times, laughs, meaningful conversations, maybe a recipe or two, and hopefully some great adventures.
