Overview
About Me
My name is Serena, I am 40 and I live in Florence in a cozy loft I share with a moony and cultivated cat. He's very kind in allowing me to stay at his place and host other human beings, sometimes.
I have a boring job, so it's not worth to talk about it, I prefer talking about my dream: giving up with sitting all day in front of a PC and open a literary bistrot with an endless, posh wine list.
I used to be fond of jokes and to take nothing seriously... maybe I grew up some way in the latest months and became some more socially responsible, politically involved, vegetarian, environmentalist and a lot of adult stuff.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I subscribed to CS in order to meet up.
And I met a lot of people saying that hosting is grand. So I shifted to "maybe accepting guest" to check. And I found it's pretty fine, I like having people around, from time to time, and compare our culture and different lifestyle.
This means that if you are looking for a free all inclusive hotel and a servant and you don't have stories and opinions to share, I'm not the right kind of host.
Interests
I have a sommelier qualification and I'm passionate of wine and its culture. I can spend half an hour trying to identify the scents I can smell in my glass.
I love cooking (much more than eating) and taking stylish photos of what I cook, for my foodblog. If you are around when I'm cooking, don't be surprised if you find me between a window and a reflecting panel on the other side, arranging different settings with lots of props to create the right mood for my shooting.
I'm fond of art, history, theatre, literature and cinema and I normally plan my spare time in working days in order to have it filled with exhibitions, conferences, concerts, movies and books.
In the weekend I go hiking in the mountains and in the countryside and have huge shared picnics with my trekking companions.
Parties, fancy restaurants and nightlife are not quite my style, but sometimes I feel like going, if someone nice is there.
If you want to join my activities, I'll be glad to have you with me. I f you don't, have your plans or just propose something in exchange and maybe our interests match.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just one?
Teach, Learn, Share
My knowledges are not worth to be thaught, I would prefer to enrich them with yours and share stories, opinions, wine, laughters, good food.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can offer a couch and a sleeping bag in the living room to male hosts.
But normally I don't host guys, unless I've already met them in previous occasions.
If female hosts find the couch uncomfortable, we may consider sharing my french size bed if the both of us feel at ease sleeping in the same room.
I cook for my guests sometimes, expecially if I check them in in the evening and we plan to stay at home, but, please, do not take whatever you find in the fridge without permission, I don't like coming home after work dreaming about a pumpkin soup and discover that my soya cream is out of stock.
As well, you may have water, coffee and a cup of tea, even without asking, and before sleeping I'll show where I keep the related facilities and reveal you my secret place for cookies, in case you need them during the night.
