About Me

Hi everyone!

I've been bitten by the travel bug ever since I was an exchange student in Hong Kong. If you had asked me before that experience if I ever wanted to live abroad or travel aimlessly, I would have likely said no. But Hong Kong (and the countries I visited around there) has forever changed my perspective, and thus, my goals in life.

Currently, I work at a startup in San Francisco and I used to be a management consultant in Toronto. Curious how tech sectors work in other parts of the world (researching where I can go next 😁).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've participated in a few Couchsurfing meetups in the past in Bangkok, Tokyo, and San Francisco, and have had great experiences chatting with people from all over the place.

I'm on Couchsurfing because I love to meet new people. Travel is enriched by the people you meet, the conversations you have, and the things you learn from others. I've learned so much about the world through others, and hope to continue to do so for a long time.

Interests

Entrepreneurship, business, computer science, writing, history, politics, spirituality, science, yoga... I think a better (and more concise) list would be things I'm not interested in. :P

Music, Movies, and Books

Kygo, The Killers, Sam Smith, Adele, Ed Sheeran, Death Cab for Cutie, Beyonce, Arctic Monkeys, Coldplay, The XX, Lana Del Rey, Imagine Dragons, and many more that are too many to name. I like all music genres (well.. all except death metal.. sorry).

In no particular order, movies that I like:
1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
2. Her
3. Pulp Fiction
4. Spirited Away

I am a voracious reader (aka I used to be one of those kids that would read at the dinner table). Some of my favourites are 1984, To Kill a Mockingbird, Harry Potter, Lolita, Jane Eyre, Pride and Prejudice, and Brave New World. I also like reading biographies. I'm currently reading about Albert Einstein by Walter Isaacson and I've read his biography on Steve Jobs, which is another favourite.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Co-founding a healthcare start-up.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you about business-related matters (like marketing, finance, and accounting). I also know a tiny bit of coding and graphic design that allows me to get by when making websites and logos.

I'd love to learn about anything - I'm extremely curious. For example, I always like to learn about the political and economic systems in other countries because I feel like when you're living in a specific country, it's hard to see how you can change the way of doing things since it feels like it is the only option. But when I see how other countries have successfully governed with a vastly different system, it gives me a new perspective and I love that. :)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Quirky sense of humour, positivity, and Canadian friendliness! :)
