ABOUT ME

I think i'm an open minded fairly free thinking person, I've travelled quite a bit, tho being a non-flyer i've so far stayed within Europe. I love cats, but at present do not have any 😥...and very fond of red wine, too fond some may say 🤣..I have 3 children, all grown up now. In France I have 1 son and 3 lovely granddaughters Marine,Charlotte and Elena, and my daughters Ruby and Georgia thankfully live locally with 4 daughters between them!! UPDATE...I haven't been a CS host for some time now, life intervened!!!...It's now 2022, and I obvs haven't done much travelling in the past 2 or 3 years. My last big trip was in 2019 to Rome, and since then I managed a sneaky trip to Holland between lockdowns in 2020...A few little jaunts around the UK have had to satisfy me since...However Ireland is now planned for July 2022, and Italy in October, dropping in on my French family on the way back....fingers crossed....

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Only hosting, very successfully , lovely people so far.I joined CS 2009 and have met some lovely people, who have said very nice things about me.

Interests

I like very much, Cats,red wine, talking, travelling,red wine, sense of humour, sudoku,red wine crosswords, quizzing, red wine, pizza, limoncello !!. I don't much like, White wine (unless its Champagne,Cava or Prosecco!!), Hypocrites, Bigots, racists, sexists, religious fundamentalists, or pasta.ps, did I mention I like red wine?.I'm catless at the moment :-(, as my boys have passed on, aged 18 and 20 respectively, Still no cats as yet (2022), hopefully that will change soon.

Music, Movies, and Books

Sci fi movies, Historical novels, though definitely not Mills and Boon!!.History, and Geography reference, Travel Books,love maps, something of a map addict!. All kinds of Music from Mozart to Motown, Rachmaninov to Rap, Elgar to Eminem!.(My daughter Ruby says this is very cheesy!!🤣) I love street art, and follow (stalk 😅) a few artists in UK and Italy....

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen things you people wouldn't believe. Attack ships off the shoulder of Orion. I watched sea beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate. (I wish!, apologies to Rutger Hauer, Blade Runner).Its boring I know, but the best things for me are my Children and 7 granddaughters. I've seen lots of stuff on my travels, If I have to pick a favorite place, it has to be most of Italy, and especially Venice, though Florence and Rome come a very close joint second.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have a personal philosophy, but wouldn't dream of imposing it on anyone else unless they were interested. But I do believe one is never too old to learn, forget that old dog new tricks rubbish!!.If I'm sure of anything in this life, is that, nothing stays the same!!.
