I grew up in Russia with a dream to travel the world and make friends in each country. After finishing school, I moved to Europe for a couple of years to experience a new way of life. Now, I live in Florida where I recently completed a PhD degree in Neuroscience focusing on Traumatic Brain Injuries. I also enjoy teaching and I even started Russian language courses which became very popular to my surprise. I am very adventurous, open-minded, gay (if it matters) and sometimes nerdy. I love experiencing different cultures as a local rather than as a tourist. And yeah, I LOVE FOOD! I can spend all my days visiting different restaurants in the area.

I might sound very "duh", but this is a perfect place to meet locals and make new friends. Many people are here for free accommodation and I won't deny that it is very helpful. However, I also realized that only those trips where I used CS gave me the most valuable experience and filled my trips with the brightest moments. I made many friends around the world and learned so much from them that I will never quit CouchSurfing. We live only once, and we should do it right; this is my "right".

My favorite book is Z: the beginning of everything - a story of Zelda and Scott Fitzgeralds documented in Zelda's dairy, breathtaking and beautifully delivered; Into the Wild, The Nightingale, Order of Time, Crime and Punishment and many more.
My favorite movies: Some Like it Hot, Me before you, Professor Martson and the Wonder Woman, Capernaum, Never Look Away ......
