About Me

My "passport" name is Siarhei, but please call me Sergey :)

I am a traveller, and an IT student from Minsk. I can't say that I know what I want in this life, so I just travel and do the things I like. I want to see this world from the most number of perspectives, so I travel and try to meet new people. Every new person and every new city helps to understand this world better.

I don't usually travel alone. Last year I've visited 16 countries with my girlfriend Kate. She is also a student in the same university as me, she is very good at drawing and studies English and French. You can see our photos in "photo" part of the profile.

We are kind of backpacker travellers, so we often get into funny or weird situations in different countries.

We both do like kittens! :3

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Since I want to understand the world better, I won't suceed if I stay at a hotel. It is much more interesting to meet people and hear their stories, to learn about their culture and tell about ours.

I realized that during my last trip to nordic countries, where I stayed with locals which I found through some other internet site (I think I am forbidden to give a reference here, right?), which is more about renting rooms. It was really an adventure, even once I paid for my accomodation in vodka and cigarettes (that's another story).

Then I've heard about a platform of CouchSurfing, which is full of people I'd like to meet.

I am completely OK, if you can't accept me (usually, "us") as a guest, probably you have some things to do, or already have guests, or just don't like me. But I would also be happy just to hear from you about your city, about non-touristic places, places full of life, places which you personally like. Because travelling the city is not visiting all touristic spots and making "yet another" photos of the sights from a travelling guidebook.

Interests

I am interested in everything.

Really!

You can talk with me about music, travelling, japanese animation, differential equations, your cat, living in my country ... anything you like.

What I Can Share with Hosts

We can do everything you like! :)

We can go everywhere, we can talk all night long (or all day long, depends on you), I can do your math homework :D

If you come to Belarus, I can show you a non-touristic part of Minsk or to be a guide. I would really like to accept surfers, but I live in a student dormitory, where I share a small room with two other guys, and I can't bring guests for the overnight stay, because it's forbidden with the rules. But we can always have a cup of tea or coffee though.
