About Me

CURRENT MISSION

No current mission really; just hibernating, exploring the Carolinas.

ABOUT ME

I'm from Belarus, an ex-Soviet republic in Eastern Europe that not too many foreigners have been to. I have lived in the States, Taiwan, France, and Germany.

I am pretty easy to please in terms of accommodation, food, and entertainment. Having lived in San Francisco for 10 years, I definitely consider myself to be open-minded. I love connecting with new people but I might be a little reserved at times.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have hosted in San Francisco, surfed in quite a few cities in Europe, participated in Couchsurfing events in Taiwan and Charlotte. I also try to spread the word about CS whenever I can!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My experience with Couchsurfing has been extremely positive!

Interests

Running outdoors and hiking, experiencing new food, trying local beers, exploring new places.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Jason Segel's movies, e.g., "Forgetting Sarah Marshall" and "The Five-Year Engagement." This big, goofy guy really cracks me up. TV shows are not exactly "movies," but it would be absolutely awful not to mention "Game of Thrones!"

I have all sorts of books in my Kindle. They're all different and I want to read them all, but I'm a very slow reader. It's embarrassing. I sometimes read 2 books at once.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

- Swimming with millions of jellyfish in Palau
- Conquering Half Dome in Yosemite National Park in California
- Sleeping in a very cold tent in Zion National Park in Utah on a Christmas night

Teach, Learn, Share

One thing I would like to share with surfers (most hosts already know it) - do not take Couchsurfing as an opportunity to "freeload." Stay for free AND meet new friends.

Another thing that I think is worth sharing/ mentioning - don't be shy to write about yourself. Hosts have a right to know what kind of person will sleep with them under the same roof.

What I Can Share with Hosts

My culture, my language, my passion for travel. My storytelling is still work in progress but I try.
