Hi, everyone! I'm an independent journalist.

Last year I had to leave Russia for political reasons (of course I'm against the war my president started), so now I live in Latvia.

By the way, travel has always been an important part of my life. It's what really helped me see the world in a new way and pursue a career in journalism. What I appreciate most is meeting new people who, like me, are not afraid of stereotypes and prejudices.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meeting locals is much more interesting than staying at hotels. There's much more to learn and see than what is recommended by travel books.

As a guest, I hate to be rude and to make you feel that I'm unthankful. I'm not. So if you have the opportunity, I would love to spend some time with you, share some stories and may be even cook something with you.

By the way I have been lucky to host/surf someone a couple of times.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love pop, soul, and jazz. Here are some of my favourite ones: Alicia Keys, Norah Jones, Janelle Monae, Jorja Smith, Laufey, Ray Charles, Julia London, Ella Fitzgerald. But I'm really open to new experience.

I freaking love good tv shows. For example, I'm a fan of Fleabag, Ozark, Better Call Saul, Firefly, Office (USA), Bojack Horseman, Marvelous Mrs Maisel, and Community.

I love reading non-fiction books, but I also respect the classics.
