About Me

It is really difficult to define oneself, but if I have to, I would choose the word “dreamer”. And, from my point of view, I can also describe myself as an enthusiastic young man who grew up enjoying and also trying to discover any artistic field.

Since I can remember, my whole life has been strongly connected to dreams and fantasies and luckily some of them have come true like when I was working abroad in Bristol and London, in the United Kingdom. I was working there for almost an entire year as a waiter/kitchen porter and taking care of a six-year-old child who had a single-mother and we created a very special connection that cannot be forgotten even now that many years have past. Those were, with no doubt, the most cheerful days ever, I actually feel more like myself when I am far away from home.

I am a very passionate person, my curiosity brought me to be specialized in Documentary Filmmaking and I have a BA Hons degree (uni) of it. I think that documentaries gives us the chance to learn and know a bit more about the real world that surrounds us through the eye of a camera and, one of my biggest dreams, is to become an arts and audiovisual teacher at a secondary school.

This sort of thinking was perhaps one of the main reasons that made me love all those movies and TV-Shows that have the magical power to let us scape to somewhere else. Somewhere that, thanks to the internet and the facilities we have nowadays, are not-so-far to visit or impossible to discover.

Before I started the university I studied dramatic arts and did tens of Musical Plays. That helped me being more outgoing and confident with myself. That is why I also happen to love the theater and dramatic arts as well.

Because of the passion that was born inside of me, the experiences I have lived far from my comfort-zone area at an early stage in my life, I have lived a lot experiences and I am really into visit different countries.

Besides, since I was eighteen, I have lived away from my parents and I don't have any sort of issue/problem to clean, cook and perform day to day duties at someone else's house. It would be such a pleasure for me to do so, so do not worry about it.

Those who know me say that I am someone who is worth to trust in and, furthermore, a peaceful soul who likes to talk for hours being able to know people from all over the globe and their background.

My sensitivity let me enjoy old and new places, allows me to meet interesting people and share a good chat/create memories to treasure for the years to come.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am an open-minded guy and I have always tried to taste new things, visit interesting places and meet nice people who could become a new friendship or someone to trust to.

Coachsurfing is the mix of all of these things, it allows people to become more confident about oneself and experience situations in the most fun and amazing way possible.

Interests

I love (of course) all sort of movies from great directors, classical and awarded novels that are a must-read before our deadlines, be visiting museums and art expositions/exhibitions, be talking for hours, the world of photography in general, meet new friends, cook, eat and also go out to wherever my heart and money allows me to.

I like to be in constant and active evolution in places that pose new situations to me and, therefore, will convey memories worth to remember.

Music, Movies, and Books

I was studying music and singing in a band for years before my university degree, so I have learnt to enjoy any sort of music, specially classical music or opera. But I am currently listening a lot of indie stuff. Sounds boring now that I put it in words, but once you're into it, it's the best.!

I love the filmography of Xavier Dolan, Lars Von Trier, David Lynch, Orson Welles, Woody Allen, Yasujiro Ozu, Bob Fosse, François Ozon, Federico Fellini, Terrence Malick, Pedro Almodóvar, Michelangelo Antonioni, Wong Kar Way, Godard, Tarkovski, Jacques Tati... C'mon! There's too many directors and films to talk about that I absolutely adore.

And talking about books I love, perhaps 'The unbearable lightness of being' by Milan Kundera, 'The Great Gatsby' by F. Scott Fitzgerald or 'Confessions of a mask' by the one and only Yukio Mishima, are some that are always in my mind. I also have to say that I LOVE comics & graphic novels, the MCU or anything related to the Harry Potter series.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have directed a short-film called 'Tribe' ('Tribu' in Spanish, its original language), which you might be able to check on IMDb. It has been selected in a bunch of different film festivals all over the world and it allowed me to visit some new countries.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've always been a good listener and I enjoy listening as much as talking. When you really connect with someone else by sharing our experiences, that brings me the opportunity to learn the beautiful things that the other person can offer to you. Learn is as important as it is to teach something to the other.

I can also share my passions to the host that decides to spend some time with me. I can also show 'him' or 'her', some movies that in other way are difficult to hear about and I can try to improve their Spanish or Catalan skills.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my time, places, my cooking skills in Spanish and Catalan cuisine, a good party with lots of chatting and, well, experiences in general to build a new friendship to treasure, which is what actually matters these days.
