About Me
Hey people! Sergio here, I consider myself an easygoing, open-minded and adaptable guy:)
Ex traveler & hitchhiker and a current part of the conventional society. Guess I'm working on my next scape to see what I can of this crazy beautiful planet.
Below some 2019 text because why not!!!
I come from the northwest part of Mexico, where the cactus and the desert are not just a stereotype. I got my bachelor's degree back home, decided to put on hold my professional career (family not happy with this one), jumped onto a plane and crossed the ocean to see what's up with the old continents and, here am I, hitchhiking for the last year, mainly Europe, north Africa and south Asia.
So, this is me, a guy traveling from Mexico to India in a couple of years, with no other worries than to live great things with great people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
After three months in Morocco, and staying with Moroccan families, an idea sank into me. The travel ends the moment you step in to the hostel and, don't get me wrong, hostels are great for recovering, partying and getting some laundry done but, the true travel is in the talk with the man behind the counter that tells you "we are all the same", in the breaking of bread with a great guy that is sharing not only food but, customs and stories about his city. In the smile that you get because somebody told a joke in another language and, though you didn't understand half of it, just by looking to the joyful expressions appearing around you, you connect with them and in walking through paths that money could never access because it can never buy the willingness and spontaneity of the local people trying to teach you how their place is wonderful.
I just want to keep sharing those moments, to keep traveling.

Music, Movies, and Books
In music everything goes, especially alternative rock, hardstyle, and classical music. Books, right now I can mention Murakami's, Huxley's, Homo Deus, Divine Comedy, 100 years of solitude, some indecipherable koans, anything related to linguistics, philosophy and whatever you convince me to be worth it. In movies I go basic with all of Wes Anderson's, Waking life, Mr. nobody, Tree of life, Ciudade de Deus, Fantastic planet, Brand new testament and I don't know, most of top IMDB movies and some random indies laying around.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Hitchhiking from Barcelona to Casablanca in three days while spending two euros. Ferry included:)
Teach, Learn, Share
I strongly believe that E v e r y o n e can teach me about life, and I want to learn.
I got some technical skills from engineering school and I can share my stories, my knowledge about the places that I've seen (beautiful Mexico), ideas and give my help when needed. I'm getting into photography so, there's that:)
What I Can Share with Hosts
Help with the housework, spanish conversation and philosophical talk (mostly nonsense, but it's fun anyway) sided by some tortillas and salsa
