About Me
CURRENT MISSION
learn jazz and find a pleasant way in life
[quick update]
- I just moved into Paris. L'entrêcote!
- I just had to exit out from netherlands after one year of working over here :S. Pretty tough playing against immigration policies. next step!
- I just spend 2 years in netherlands doing a masters on Sustainable Energies, pretty tough being a student again. graduated!
- I just spent 1.8 years traveling in Asia, jumping from tents to hostels to couches and/or volunteering opportunities. time to get on track again!
me llamo Sergio, I just lived a year through all places of New Zealand doing a working holiday, now I am making my way back to mexico through the very long way: SE Asia!, ... its been hard to tell for how long I will continue to do this since my life seems to have no direction at the moment...
I have lived Mexico most of my life, lived in Germany for 1 year during my studies, and recently 1 year in New Zealand. I have traveled a little Europe,North-America,and now SE- Asia.
"spontaneity", that's how I call it when random stuff happens. It is just that I am not very good at planning stuff. .,. I like to hang around with creative people and try always to stay positive. Apart from play the guitar, I believe I have no other talent. I enjoy jamming, I take my guitar all the places where I go. I believe I sing very bad, but I try.
I prefer to be on chilled places, nature, hanging around in harmony with the beers, meeting new people.. rather than been on crowdy places, pubs or clubs, but I go there sometimes too.
I am a little bit serious and even introverted sometimes. But if I feel comfortable enough my very dumb sense of humour can come into play. I also believe I have a bit of caligynephobia. I enjoy discussing whether sense or non-sense topics, keeping my mind occupied with what is going on on the present and trying to learn new things because when I think of the future I always get freaked-out with too many options and I also tend to write a lot of long run-on sentences when I am not speaking my own language but you should understand that.
I believe I forget people names more often than normal and the calendar is my worst enemy.
In NZ I rediscovered the experience of trekking and camping. I like biking, hiking, rivers and everything related with the idea of going offline (back to nature) for a while.
Now I have left the calmness of NZ to go hardcore traveler around asia. Thailand, Cambodia, Laos and Indonesia. And my final destination is Nepal.
PHILOSOPHY
life is a song, with rhythm variations, movements and improvisations.. play it, sing it loud.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I have hosted people when I used to have a home. You always meet some crazy fun intelligent people with this.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Great so far. Stayed some times with very nice people around the globe. I have met a lot of interesting characters, and have hosted some people where I used to live in NZ. sweet. Of course I will continue to host adventurous travelers when I go back to super-awesome-mexican territories.
Interests
-My interest is to discover new stuff that can potentially become my new hobby(poorly written but gives the idea)
-MUSIC. I can't tell you which gender I like the most. I just play whatever the situation demands, whatever I feel like playing, a challenge, old or new songs, experimental, reggae, rock, and even classic and flamenco.. . Sometimes I make up something that I forget the next day. show me your music, lets jam and find out. If I play something you know, sing it because I don't know the lyrics.
-nature. trekking, hiking or camping, biking! swimming on the lake, good views; Alternatively, suffering from cold, having trouble, flat tires and shitty weather can be a big plus.
-sustainability, yeah that is how I am going to help the world, working on renewable energy resources
- I am a computer geek 8) ask-me
-photography., I do what I can with my cheap camera. I am just a beginner here but I really see everything within a frame 8-). I believe a picture and a great awesome anecdote just make the perfect memory.
-cheese cake: I haven't tried this long time ago, I have lost practice on this subject. but I know I like it.
Music, Movies, and Books
No, I have tried to make a movie, but it was not good.
Yes, I am good making music, I think
No, I haven't written any book, yet
I like to play and I am teaching myself a little bit of Jazz at the moment. But I believe every style has its own little awesomeness, so I try to vary. Sometimes I play Pink Floyd reggae style just for the sake of randomness. If you can teach me to play a new instrument rather than guitar, you are awesome.
I don't know about movies, like knowing actors names and stuff. Honestly, you will come straight to a conversation dead-end if trying to talk with me about celebrities and Jollywood.
I do know about movie-edition though and I have done some non-sense stop-motion clips just for fun.
Books, em..., I was not raised an avid reader, but I am trying to change that, current quota: 20 books per year. Current favorite: The City- Clifford Simak (yeah science fiction baby!).
Why always this question is limited to "Movies,Music,Books"? Why not "drawing, writing and composing?"
